Discovery & Research
Weblication Studios focused on the academy’s clientele and the obstacles athletic trainers experience when attempting to sharpen their clientele's tennis skills. By analyzing the tennis academy’s objective of offering advanced coaching services to men and women of all ages, we developed a better understanding of potential users’ needs to include progress tracking, coaching services, and training support.
Design & Development
Digital enhancement to traditional, face-to-face coaching was the central theme of our development. Our design aimed to assist players in tracking their progress, accessing practice drills and instructional videos, and participating in skill-development workshops.
Integration of Technology & Features
Skill-development features were designed and incorporated to elicit participation and commitment to practice. Motivation was built into practice recommendations and progress milestones, with the added convenience of practice guides. Players also had a means of providing and receiving practice feedback, along with coaching support, via a built-in messaging system.
Implementation & Testing
Player progress, practice scheduling, messaging and instructional videos were incorporated and tested separately to ensure that our design offered the highest level of usability to all players, regardless of skill level.
Support After Implementation
Weblication Studios continues to gather user feedback post-launch and improve system functionality. Updates are delivered on a regular basis to interactive features, scheduling, and training recommendations to ensure that tools improve along with goals of the Academy.

The Personalized Practice Recommendations and the Interactive Training Dashboard prompted players to perform drills, watch tutorials, and monitor their progress more regularly.
The Engagement Metrics indicate that players utilized video tutorials on skill drills and match analysis, as well as practice programs, and this led to increased participation in the Academy's digital training resources.
The Practice Progress Notification and Milestone Celebration features, in addition to the Interactive Coaching Engagement feature, helped reinforce the Players-Academy bond, leading to increased retention.
Over 800 players, including beginners, competitive juniors, and adult recreational players, were engaged, and the results show a thriving tennis community in Irvine and beyond.
